My paintings are emotional, spontaneous and uninhibited. I am primarily self-taught therefore the techniques used are for the most part, personally experimental in nature. I paint using oils, acrylics, various house paints, and spray paints. Surfaces are mostly canvas, wood, and sheetrock. Abstract painting, for me, is about expressing emotion. The satisfaction I find in the physical act of painting is what drives me from canvas to canvas. The end result whether it be good or bad is what it is; a painting, a sculpture, a mess, or all of the above. Living inside of the creative moment, feeling, smelling, wearing the medium and working out expressive urges are the reasons I began and continue to paint. I try not to be overly analytical regarding my work or the work of others. I enjoy what a good picture does to my eyes, mind, and gut on a physical level. It is very basic, exciting, and human.
